Who influences you most musically?

— Paramore fans. When we write, I always envision us playing the song we’re writing and how you guys are going to react to it. It doesn’t have to be fast and loud, it can be any type of song… I just imagine what kind of emotions we could stir up in the crowd and that inspires me. 

When you started the band, did you ever think it was going to be as big as it is today?

— I mean, I always wanted to be in a band and sure, I wanted to be successful but when we started out none us of really cared. We just wanted to play music together. After we wrote “Hallelujah” I figured, man this could really be something big. That was totally exciting. But there’s nothing that matches that feel of just wanting to meet up for a few hours to jam for no reason. 

What is your favorite thing about Paramore fans?

— My favorite thing about you guys is how diverse you are. The world is so big and yet so small at the same time. I love experiencing different cultures and seeing how different people’s lifestyles are around the world… and then seeing how music gives us something in common.

How would you feel if Lady Gaga did a new song and asked you to feature in it?

— Haha! I’d probably faint. Really, she is just so ridiculously talented. I’ve watched her HBO special a couple times already. If she asked me to sing with her I don’t know if I’d feel worthy. 

If you could cover a song and play it live what would it be?

— We love covering songs! We don’t do it too often anymore.. but when we feel like it would be good for a certain show, we just learn anything that we all enjoy. We’ve been joking about covering Adele songs cause we all love that record so much. Plus, I haven’t sang R&B or any soul music on a stage since I was about 13. It’d be nice to do that again for fun. That’s really where I started. 

What quote do you live by?

— My Granny has always said “I am woman, hear me roar”.. and I always thought it was just funny until a couple years ago when I realized that I had a lot more strength than I was allowing myself. Now, I don’t let people push me around so much. I understand that just because I’m a strong woman doesn’t mean I am a big ol’ bitch. There’s a balance. You can have grace and strength at the same time. 

What’s the weirdest thing a fan has ever given you?

— Oh man! There have been so many weird gifts… I can’t even think of all the weirdest ones because there have been so many. I mean, once we got cold buffalo chicken wings and cheese pizza from Pizza Hut. That was weird AND awesome. 

If you could interview one person who would it be and why?

— Loretta Lynn. She is a pistol of a woman and an incredible song writer. Plus, I mean I know I didn’t grow up in the hills of Tennessee but we’re both down home southern women… I feel like there would be a lot to relate to in her stories.

Most memorable tour moment?

— Headlining at the O2 arena was huge. Seeing our name on the marquee for that place was unreal! I’ll never forget it. 

Would you like to sing with Alex Gaskarth?

— I’ll sound like a douche if I say no but let me explain… At this point, I’ve put my voice on a lot of records. October Fall, The Chariot, Say Anything, New Found Glory, Set Your Goals, a cover song with Weezer.. I feel like I’ve exhausted a bit of the punk scene in a lot of ways. It’s one thing to do a little back up part for fun but if I keep putting my name on everything that comes along then eventually people are going to be sick of my voice showing up in their favorite band’s songs.

What was it like going on tour with No Doubt and being able to sing with Gwen Stefani?

— It was just as wild as you could imagine. I felt like pinching myself every single night. They are the ultimate dream… sure, they’ve had their own hard times but look how far they’ve come as friends, as a band, as individuals. It’s extremely motivating. 

How was the whole experience being in Guitar Hero and being the first female on the game?

— They had me doing all my “on stage antics” and jumping off huge crates and landing in a sort of rock god type of pose. It felt so comic book like, which was really exciting. I never really understood the weight of me being the first girl on the game until way after. In fact, I may still not totally get it. It’s just an honor, you know? Why me? I feel blessed that people care at all.

I thought I’d introduce myself a little if thats okay, my name is Scarlett I’ve been a fan since 2007 my boyfriend got me listening to Paramore cause he’s been a huge fan since All We Know Is Falling (If you don’t mind me saying my boyfriend is a huge fan of WWE & he thinks your the coolest girl ever cause you watch it & friends with CMPunk!) I love how you love zombies because I love zombies myself, they’re the coolist ever! I’ve learnt lots of stuff from you like from you interviews & the advice you give to fans is so enspiring. So… thank you for being you & being so connected with your fans, I hope one day I get to meet you, Jeremy & Taylor! That would be so lovely, I’d probably blabber on about things what we both like… like delicious food, zombies, Robert Downey jr., DisneyWorld/Land, horror movies.. well movies in genral, Lady Gaga.

Hey Scarlett! Just wanted to say sorry for taking so long!
